Bye Bye Chaotic Closet, Hello Minimalism!

Are you tired of getting up every morning not knowing what to wear? Are you so over digging through the closet you spent 3 hours organizing...just to ruin it within 5 minutes all because you had to try on 6 different outfits to finally find the perfect one? Well if your like me, you answered yes, yes and YES. Now...IMAGINE better yet DREAM of a wardrobe where each piece was interchangeable with one another. Where one shirt paired well with all of your jeans, one pair of jeans looked great with all of your tops, and every shoe and handbag looked great with every outfit. Though this may sound too good to be true I'm here to help you realize that this dream can certainly come true! Today, I will show you the 10 essential items you'll need to start a neutral, interchangeable, minimalistic wardrobe perfect for an on-the-go fashionista with no time to waste. While scrolling down, keep in mind that each bottom is interchangeable with each top and each accessory can be worn with the outfit you put together.

1. The White Button Up
The white button up is an essential because it simply goes with anything and everything! Pair it with distressed denim jeans or shorts, joggers, or a flirty skirt. Whatever you reach for, there is no way you can go wrong with this top.

2. Ripped Denim Jeans
Ripped denim jeans are my favorite. It adds character to any outfit. They've also been making appearances on the runway. Wear these for an effortlessly cool look, trust me...you'll be glad you did!

3. Lace Top
Lace embroidered tops are an easy way to dress up casual looks. I highly suggest laced halter tops to flatter broad shoulders or a cold shoulder top to flatter narrow shoulders.

4. Distressed Denim Shorts
Distressed denim shorts are great for the spring and summer. You can spice up your pair with a printed t-shirt and embellished cropped coat for breezy days. Wear with sneakers, platforms, or sandals...the possibilities are endless!

5. Platforms
Platform sandals are hot for this spring season and will be even hotter in the summer. These shoes are perfect to throw on with any outfit. Pair a tan and cream color blocked platform with pastel muted tones or a solid black pair with your deep, dark pieces of clothing for a cohesive effortless look.

6. Printed T-Shirt
The printed T-shirt is a great fashion forward way to throw a message out into the world and express yourself without even having to speak! It's also a great alternative to the solid top that can be super bland and boring.

7. Flannel
I think it would be safe to say that everyone owns at least one flannel top. If you don't already, go out and buy one today! It will be one of the most versatile pieces you own. Wear it closed (like you see here in the picture), open with a tank top or t-shirt underneath, half way buttoned with a hint of your favorite strappy/lacy bra peaking through, or around your waist.

8. Flat Gladiators
Gladiator sandals are also a must have this spring and summer season. If I had it my way, I'd wear these perfectly designed Vince shoes everyday! The white, black and bronze color palette make it the go-to sandal for every outfit whether it be casual or dressy.

9. Satchel
There is no way you can step out and conquer the day without a handbag to carry everything you'll need to do it. A handbag (like the two above) that procure textures, solids, and smooth hardware pair perfectly with anything and provides a pop of edgy fun to your look.

10. Aviators

Spring and Summer is full of sunny days so a pair of sunglasses is essential! Aviators is a classic way to add the finishing touches to every stylish look.

Now, that you have a good idea about what it takes to start a minimalistic wardrobe (with the capability to be to interchangeable) you can add your own style and ideas to it and make it your own. Just remember to keep the colors simple and that classics are always best...good luck!

And while you rest your chaotic wardrobe to peace...jam to this feel good tune, "Goodbye" by Who Is Fancy to remind you that letting go of those holding you down (in this case, a hectic closet) is a start to carefree beginnings...enjoy! :)
