Dressed as a Daydream

Bohemian Chic is back in full effect and it’s better than ever!  Romantic floral, ruffles, fringe, carefully calculated transparent lace, and beautiful airy dresses was what it was all about for the Spring 2015 Ready-to-wear collections during fashion week. First, I will focus on the more practical runway pieces that could be worn during the day. Second, I will focus on the garments that can be worn during the night. For each category (night and day) I will also discuss how you can approach the styling methods from the runway and mesh it into your own sense of style and look. Some of my favorite designs (and the ones i will be focusing on here) include the work of Rodarte, Marchesa, Roberto Cavalli, and Blumarine. Enjoy!

Lets talk day wear...

The looks I chose here consist of mainly formal proportion and equal balancing designs. Sequence, sheer blouses, a cool twist of ripped denim, and abstract print is a must this Spring season.

A sequined top can be paired with a simple circle skirt and metallic gladiator heels.
A loose mini dress with a fun print and low plunge looks great with platformed strappy sandals.
A sheer top with pleats and embroidered lace is a must have. Dress it down with a pair of ripped jeans along with a metallic clutch and platforms.
A denim on denim look can be spiced up with matching or similar textures on the top and bottom for a well thought out cohesive look.
Monochromatic top and bottom? Yes please! A white lace top with cream laced shorts and eccentric eyewear can give anyone a fashion forward look.
Pair a nice jersey inspired jacket with a mini skirt and tall gladiator heels (that match the adornments of your jacket).

....now lets talk night wear.

The looks I chose here are similar to the daytime looks with the sheer lace, sequence studded dresses, lively ruffles and floral prints. Utilize these styling techniques for a night out on the town or a more formal night where dressing to impress is crucial. Just remember one word, romance!

If your a simple girl, spice up your look with an off the shoulder, peasant top dress with lace bottoms and lacy shoes.
Pair an asymmetrical high waisted skirt with a cropped sheer lace top and cut out platforms (preferably with a boat neckline) and your ready to go!
A loosened cold shoulder maxi with beautiful striped flower prints synched at the waist can be worn with platforms or gladiator sandals.
If your style is more on the eccentric side a whimsical dress with 3 or 4 mixed textures and colors will give you the daring umph your looking for.
A sporty glam inspired maxi dress with a low plunged neckline can flatter any figure.

So, before you head out to buy these hot upcoming trends or dig through your closets in hopes to replicate these looks remember: lace, sheer, sequence, and texture are your best friends!

In honor of these hopelessly romantic looks...I give you Mo's "Never Wanna Know". Enjoy!
